ELECTRIC COMPANY and ABB are pleased to introduce a SAFETY VOLTAGE DETECTOR for Electric Transit Cars.
This detector is typically located on the top, bottom and in maintenance access areas on Transit Cars,
or any other DC voltage source, to safely indicate potential hazardous voltages. The Detector, Part Number
VD1500-48, is wired directly to supply lines and requires no additional components.Maintenance personnel can visually detect live potentials from either catenary or temporary stinger power connections. The detector will also detect charged capacitor banks. The detectors LED's, Quantity 2, flash at potential DC voltage from 48 to 1500 VDC. Dual circuitry is built into each model to offer redundancy in case of lamp or circuit failure.

Darrah Electric Company is pleased to release a new 28-page bulletin describing our line of Power Semiconductor Assemblies. This bulletin covers hockey puck or disk type Power Semiconductor assemblies in air-cooled designs. Called Darrah Gold, this booklet offers a simple comprehensive building block approach to designing higher current assemblies, using rectifiers, thyristors and other disk type devices. Beginning with all common rectifier and thyristor circuits, Darrah Gold then lets you choose from over a dozen pre-machined aluminum extrusions. Darrah has selected optimized extrusions to support disk devices ranging in pole sizes from 19mm through 125mm diameters. Thermal ratings at natural convection cooled and forced air-cooled are given for each extrusion. Mechanical drawings are shown for single, two, three and six device assemblies. Darrah Gold bulletin then allows you to choose the best power semiconductor for your needs. Choose the worlds best manufacturers of rectifiers, thyristors, GTO's IGCT's and BCT's. All supported from technical data sheets and Darrah's engineering department. Darrah also provides passive components such as R/C Snubbers, bus bars, thermostats, fans, terminal strips and current transducers for your final assembly. and isolated packaging.Both modules offer several advantages over their predecessors.
