DC HOME FEATURES OPTIONS INDUSTRY TYPES

  • PLC Interfacing and Controlling
Darrah offers a four channel PLC interface. Two channels from the PLC control the DC output current and voltage of the rectifier. Two monitor the DC voltage and current. Use PLC to start or stop the rectifier, and initiate ramp cycles, and unlimited timer functions. The PLC can also monitor safety circuits and alarms.

  • Digital LED Meters
.5” high display, available with NEMA rated clear sealed covers.

  • Ampere Time Meters
Darrah offers over six variations of Ampere Time Meters. Typical models include totalizing counters with manual or non-resettle counters. Preset or countdown counters with switching circuits and alarms are also available.

Darrah's ampere time meters can be calibrated in seconds, minutes or hours. Choose between mechanical or LED digital counters.

Accuracy is +/- 1%. Darrah's ampere time meter can be easily wired into any existing power supply system. Enclosures are sealed in a thermoplastic design.

  • Batch or Cycle Timers
Unlimited number of uses available in seconds, minutes or hours.

  • DC Polarity Reversing
Darrah Electric offers fully automatic DC periodic reversing and polarity reversing either built in to new units or sold as a self contained unit to be inserted into existing systems.

All Darrah reversing systems are rated for 100% continuous operation. DC amperages are available from 10 through 20,000 amps.

Periodic reverse controls include dual timer to set forward and reverse time settings. Adjustments can be made at any time with immediate effects. Pilot lights are provided to indicate polarity direction.

Direct DC reversing units can be provided with or without timer. A selector switch is provided when units are manufactured without timer.

The DC reversing is accomplished by heavy-duty contactors specifically designed for high current DC switching. Micro switches ensure correct switching.

All units can be operated at remote location or easily connected to system controls or PLC.

AC line requirement for the reversing units is 115 volt, 1 phase.

  • Timers
The use of timers with DC power supplies offers unlimited possibilities for controlling not only the power supply but also additional related systems.

Timers can be supplied in either mechanical types with a preset range or microprocessor based, adjustable between .01 seconds to 999 hours.

Typically switching circuits are provided to select the timer in or out of the control circuit.

Timers are commonly used for reversing output polarity or shutting the power supply off or on at the end of the timed cycle. Buzzers and pilot lights can be provided to operate at the end of the timed cycle.

  • Ground Fault Protection
Darrah offers industrial quality ground fault circuit detectors for personnel and equipment protection for their line of DC power supplies. For higher voltage DC outputs, typically over 100 volts DC, Darrah offers personnel protection. This unit is designed to shut the DC power supply off when either the positive or negative DC output touches ground. Its trip point is set to operate at 15 milli amp trip current.

Circuits are provided for daily testing.

  • PLC Programming
Control DC output current and voltages. Start processes or polarity reverse.

  • Adjustable DC Voltage Ramp Control
Repeatable accuracy in processes requiring a preset DC voltage rise over an adjustable time period.

  • Ripple Filtering
Available to maximum 5%, 2%, and 1% throughout entire DC output range.

  • Adjustable Transformer Taps
Many applications for DC Power Supplies require at times one third or one half the DC output voltage for prolonged periods of time.

By use of voltage adjustment taps with switching circuits, Darrah can offer beyond 50% power savings and offer wider flexibility for DC power supply applications.

Use of transformer adjustment taps is recommended and can offer tremendous cost savings for a variety of applications such as; hard chrome plating and test stations.

  • 12 Pulse Designs
High efficiency, ultra low output ripple, lower harmonics.

  • Other Popular Darrah Options
